The SHA 140 is a high-performance battery-powered vacuum shredder that has been designed for professional users and is part of the AP System. With 15% more suction power compared to the petrol SH 86 vacuum shredder, the SHA 140 is the ideal tool for professionals working in landscaping and grounds maintenance. 

The vacuum shredder will efficiently vacuum leaves, grass and hedge clippings with ease before shredding them directly in the machine. It’s excellent suction power means it doesn’t matter what surface you are working on – whether it is asphalt, concrete, gravel, lawns or flowerbeds – the SHA 140 will be able to vacuum and shred with ease. 

Assembling the SHA 140 and removing the catcher bag can be done without the need for tools. Its wide openings allow for easy access when cleaning the tool, mean clogs can be cleared with ease. The ergonomic design of the handle means the tool is comfortable to use thanks to the wide handles and the positioning of the collection bag. The ventilation openings on the collection bag enables constant suction power regardless of the fill level of the bag, and the metal shredder blade on the shredder reduces the size of material to better fill the bag and speed up the composting of material. The collection bag has a robust design and doesn’t use a zipper – it instead has robust metal buckles and has been designed for quick and complete emptying once full. 

The SHA 140 has a variable sped trigger for greater control and a boost mode integrated into the throttle trigger. The tool is IPX4 rated too, meaning it can be used in adverse weather conditions such as rain. A Smart Connector 2A port on the tool means it can be connected to STIHL connected with ease too.

On a full charge with the recommended AP 300 S battery, the SHA 140 has a working time of 60 minutes, or 38 minutes on boost mode.

Constant power

CONSTANT POWER, REGARDLESS OF BATTERY CHARGE STATUS. With other brands of battery tools, the performance usually decreases during work as the battery discharges. This is not the case with STIHL cordless power tools with CONSTANT POWER. Thanks to the intelligent electronics, your STIHL power tool works with consistently high power.

Air flow management system

FOR CONSISTENTLY HIGH SUCTION POWER. In order to enable consistently high air flow, the collection bag has a special ventilation opening. Only air can escape from it – regardless of the fill level and degree of contamination of the collection bag. This is how STIHL Air Flow Management enables consistent suction power and so a consistently high level of work progress.

Boost function

TO QUICKLY SWITCH TO MAXIMUM SUCTION POWER. Extra pressure on the trigger switch of your STIHL vacuum shredder immediately activates maximum suction force.

SIMPLE CLEANING. The recesses on the side of the suction pipe opening minimise the risk of sticking to the floor or to the vacuumed material.

IPX4 Certified

SPLASHWATER PROTECTION. The IPX protection classes define the moisture protection of electrical or electronic devices. The moisture protection test is defined in different stages. IPX4 certifies protection against splashwater from all sides. Battery-powered tools with this certification are therefore designed for daily use, even in rainy conditions.

Connectivity (Ready)

COMPATIBLE WITH THE SMART CONNECTOR 2A. You can mount a Smart Connector 2 A in the housing of the power tool at the dedicated position. Once installed, this connects to the control unit and transmits valuable power tool data to your smartphone, tablet or the STIHL connected Box that is within range. You can use the STIHL connected App and the STIHL connected Portal to view the STIHL connected gathered data and benefit from additional functions.
