Morris Metalworking Lubricants
MetalworkingThe last century ended with the acquisition of the well respected Metcut brand, providing a new focus for the company's range of metalworking fluids. The culmination of a multi million pound expansion programme at the Shrewsbury site, included the completion in 1999 of a new facility capable of producing 5 thousand tonnes per annum of water miscible fluids, equivalent to over 100 million litres of diluted end product.

Morris lubricants has been supplying steam oils for over 100 years for both locomotives and static engines. This wealth of experience is reflected in the Morris range of Steam Engine Oils… products formulated using the latest technology to meet the original lubrication requirements of steam engines.The object of internal lubrication in a steam engine is to form a lubricating film between the rubbing surfaces and thus avoid metal to metal contact as far as possible and also to form an oil-seal in order to prevent leakage of steam past the valves, pistons and gland packings.
Only by feeding the correct grade of high-quality cylinder oil, specially selected to suit the operating conditions of the. engine, applied in the correct manner, to the right place and in the right quantity, will the steam engine continue to operate at its highest efficiency and with the minimum cost of renewals and repairs.
